As a child, getting a magazine subscription wasn’t all that thrilling (PennyWise, Ranger Rick, etc.). But, now that I am a MAN…
Getting something special to read in the mail each week/month is not so bad. Especially if I didn’t have to pay for it!
If you are looking for a cool, unique, and inexpensive gift for a man that you know - (and if any guys are reading this, it’s cool to give a buddy a magazine subscription as a gift) - check out these ideas for gift magazine subscriptions. And, I did try and list magazines that are not usually top-of-mind, with the exception of Maxim (but I personally like this one)…

All About Beer - I like beer. But, I’m not sure I personally would want a magazine about the subject. However, I am sure that there are real men out there that would enjoy getting this magazine each month. All About Beer magazine has tips about home brewing, buyer’s guides, reviews, taste tests, beer history and more. |

Beckett Massive Online Gamer - I wish I had more time to play games! There have been periods in my life where I’ve been able to play online games for a few days consecutively. Which is exactly why many wives and girlfriends reading this will say “uh, uh, not for my man!”.  But ladies, if your man is playing online games anyway, shouldn’t your guy be the best? |

Blender - Blender Magazine “cuts through the crap and talks about the music and the musicians like it is.” Help your man-friend cut through the crap and get his music on. |

Card Player - Oh yeah! This magazine is a definite must for most guys 21 to 40 out there (just made up my own demographic). If I had this magazine I’d probably stop having to fake it when I’m playin’ with the boyz.

Cigar Aficionado - Like Maxim (below), this magazine is not something you are likely just being made aware of. But, this subscription will bring joy to the stogie lover in your life each month. Check out Ms. Gift’s post about rare cigars for some other gift ideas for stogie chompers.

Maxim - I’m a fan of Maxim magazine myself. While the pictures are certainly what captures attention at first, the magazine has great articles and I enjoy their particular brand of humor. For $12/year, this is a great gift to give a guy! |

Popular Science - Here’s a way for the attention-deficit men in your life to keep up with scientific trends, and see what cool inventions are coming down the pipe. The magazine makes science fun again! |

Radar - Self-described as offering “Pop, Politics, Scandal, Style”, Radar magazine is the perfect guy mix! Maxim for the un-common man? |

Robb Report - A man can dream, can’t he? While the Robb Report is a great magazine for those who do have money, it’s also a way for men of slightly-lessor-means to escape for a bit and imagine what could be. (ladies, it might even get a fire started under your guy’s butt to start making some bank). |

Whisky - A sophisticated man’s drink. Men enjoy talking whiskey. And, those that know more are that much more impressive to their fellow comrades in drink (at least for a few seconds).
