4 Rare Cigars You Want to Have

Posted by MsGift, Jul 03rd, 2008

When I think 4th of July I think beer, fishing, fireworks and smoking a cigar outside.  Nothing better than smoking a nice big stogie while hanging out with your buddies.

Here are four rare cigars you wish you could be lighting up this weekend:

arturo fuente opus x cigar Arturo Fuente Opus X Cigar (Dominican)

From Cigars.com “The Fuente OpusX is one of the rarest cigars in the world. It is elusive to almost every smoker because of its limited production…the OpusX has a world-renowned reputation for quality and class. It is full bodied with a rich and robust flavor.”You may be able to find them at various smoke shops or online but they go quick and aren’t cheap.

Famous-Smoke.com offers a box of 22 for $750 and Cigar.com offers a small sampler for $150!

partagas 150 cigar Partagas 150 Signature Series “Don Ramon” cigars (Dominican)

The Partagas is created by master cigar maker Ramon CiFuentes and was made to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the brand. According to ThompsonCigar.com “this is probably the world’s hardest-to-find cigar”.

Prices range from $158 for a box of 5 to $950 for a box of 20.

shark tent Punch Rare Corojo Cigars (Honduras)

Not as rare as the Partagas but limited due to its rich, reddish wrapper leaves that are only grown in small quantities. According to Cigar-Review.com “Rare Corojo cigars are made with extra rich, dark Sumatra wrapper leaves that are grown in the mountains of Ecuador. The filler is a rich blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos.”

Tinderbox has prices ranging from $98 to $138 for a box of 50.

la aurora anos cigar La Aurora 100 Anos (Dominican)

Very rare and pricey, “available to only a small handful of suppliers, the La Aurora 100 Anos is one of the highest rated brands ever made. Each 100 Anos utilizes only tobacco that is grown and rolled in the Dominican Republic…one of the worlds only cigars to use 100% Dominican Tobacco” Only 300,000 were produced and won’t be made again.

A box of 25 will run you about $300

snowglobe.jpgTo some, snow globes are those gifts you get and think, “Now what do I do with this?”.  But to others they are fun to collect and can be gazed upon for hours.

While snow globes aren’t exactly unique unto themselves, there are some pretty awesome/hilarious ones that are.

Martin & Munoz have created a line of hand-crafted snow globes featuring scenes you would not typically find in a snow globe.  For instance, the travelers collection contains scenes of a man with a giant spider behind him or a kid being held over a well by one foot.  There is an island scene with people walking on stilts and another of a man being held at gunpoint. They are really quite interesting and make you think about what you are seeing.

They also are limited in numbers and hard to find.  I did come across some at Unica Home but I am not sure of the availability.  A warning, these aren’t your typical snow globes in looks or price.  Each one will run you about $750!  Here are some additional ones:

Britney Gave Kevin a Diamond Watch

Posted by MsGift, Jun 19th, 2008

diamondwatch.jpgWhile Britney has certainly had her share of messes there is one thing you can say…the girl knows how to shop.

According to ShowBiz Spy, this past April, Britney gave Kevin a $150,000 diamond encrusted watch from Jacob & Co for his 30th birthday.

I don’t know the exact watch she gave him but I did find a similar model at Luxury Bazaar retailing for….$1 million.  Pocket change right?

Here are some of the specs:

- 71.36 ct on Total Diamond Weight
- 329 Baguette & 5 rose cut diamonds on dial
- 224 Baguette diamonds on band

Ridiculous!  But hey if you have the money I’m sure it would make a great gift for someone that really, really likes watches…or diamonds!

Give Mom & Baby a Cashmere Baby Sling

Posted by MsGift, Jun 12th, 2008

redcashmereproduct_0056_jumbo2.jpgWith GiftGuy and GiftGirl welcoming GiftBaby this week (Congrats GiftFamily!) it had me thinking about cool gifts for new moms.

I came across the Oopa Baby Cashmere Baby Sling at My Kidz Got Style and had to read more.

The sling is not only made of cashmere (love it) but it is designed to be stylish, can be worn in a variety of positions and each one is hand-made and one of a kind. (Red is the only color they have available) It is one size only, measures 78″ in length, has no pocket and is dry clean only.

Being cashmere it’s a little pricey ($405) but just think how comfortable and soft both mom and baby will feel in it. I’m sure any mom would be grateful for this gift.

Check out the My Kidz Got Style blog for some other cool ideas for new moms and kids.

brad.jpgWe always see photos of Brad Pitt taking the kids for rides in helicopters, playing on ATV’s and cruising around all sexy on his motorcycles (I added the ‘all sexy’ part). So for a man who already has all of these toys, what in the world do you get him for his birthday?

According to the Courier Mail, you apparently buy him a $100,000 custom engraved motorcycle. Or at least that is what you do if you are Angelina Jolie.

Angelina gave Brad a brand new motorcycle featuring a plaque on the handlebars that reads ‘My Sweetheart, the Drunk‘. While that doesn’t sound very romantic, it’s the name of a Jeff Buckley album, who is apparently Brad’s favorite musician.

Now I can’t afford to buy Brad a brand new motorcycle but I can give him great gift-buying tips…he’ll probably want to marry me soon.
