How do I purchase gifts on the site?
Well, we are not actually selling any products here. We are writing about unique gift ideas that we like and are sharing these ideas with readers of the blog. The blog posts we write typically have links pointing to sites where you can purchase the gift items. In cases where we are writing about a do-it-yourself type of gift, we attempt to provide resources where you can find the materials to create the gift.
If you are not selling products, how are you making money?
We try and balance the simplicity of providing unique gift ideas with generating revenue. To that end, we use the tasteful placement of Google AdSense ads and sparing affiliate marketing links to generate revenue. We like the art of gift-giving, but are also interested in earning a living!
You just mentioned “affiliate marketing”. What do you mean?
Affiliate marketing is the practice of linking to a Web site with the intent to receive commissions when something is purchased by a person who clicked to that site. This is done by a publisher (us) signing up for an affiliate program with another company (the advertiser), and then using specific links provided by the advertiser to track any sales back to us. We have no intention, whatsoever, of making the content of our blog all about affiliate marketing. We will always write about unique gift ideas that we like and would give to someone we love (or like), and only if it feels appropriate will we link to a site that might provide commissions. We will not create an environment that feels too commercial and that will get in the way of helping you un-stump your gift-giving brain!
I have a product that I think would make a great gift. How do I get you to write about it?
We are always happy to take a look at a product or service that might make a great gift. We cannot promise that we will write about it though.
