Last Chance Father’s Day Deal From Hammacher Schlemmer!
Jun 14th
OK, I try to keep the promotional aspect of this blog to a very below-average minimum.
But, I did see through my affiliate account (yes, I would be compensated if you bought this) that Hammacher Schlemmer has a Digital Photo Album Watch that was $99.95 (I mean, $100) and is now $49.95 (come on, $50). I sincerely think this is a cool gadget that lots of fathers would enjoy. Even if they didn’t wear the darn thing every day, it’s perfect for business travel (in the travel bags, more likely than on the wrist) and for fun occasions out on the town, with family and friends, vacations, etc. Besides, it’s cool – just like Dad!

Private Ninja Lessons!!! Why Can’t I Live in Bronxville, NY?!?
Jun 4th
Why, oh why can’t I live in Bronxville, New York? It would be a dream come true to take Private Ninja Lessons from a true master. Even if I didn’t receive this as a gift for Father’s Day or my birthday, I would certainly convince my wife the $180 was a good investment in home protection and stealth investigations.

Private Ninja Lessons |
Description:
Learn the secrets of ancient martial arts and the mysterious ninja warriors with one of New York’ oldest Bujinkan schools, affiliated with Bujinkan Hombu Dojo in Japan since the early 1980′s.These legendary combat methods teach effective methods of self-protection using elusive timing, control of distance and subtle angling, i.e. like how to avoid the assault of a sword. Learn from an actual Shidoshi (teacher of the warrior ways) about the history, tradition and philosophy of these night tigers before practicing their self-defense, heightened awareness and combat strategy methods. These lessons are a great compliment to existing martial art experience. The opportunity to use weapons in this class is on a case to case scenario and under the sole discretion of the instructor. After this session with our experienced ninja instructor you will better understand the mystery and power that surrounds this 900-year-old martial art. What martial arts are taught? Your Ninja Lesson is based on the martial art of ninjutsu also, called budo taijutsu. Budo taijutsu uses relaxed, natural movement, timing and control of distance to overcome an opponent’s speed and strength. Movement is refined for grace and naturalness in all action until power results from mere movement, and evasion from a simple adjustment of position. Weaponry, striking, grappling, choking and throwing as well as methods of leaping and rolling are all disciplines that are incorporated into our curriculum. This training is one of the rare martial arts undiluted by emphasis on sport competition or artificial rules. Our training emphasizes shiken gata – combat survival techniques.
New Skills Can Be An Enriching Gift
Jun 2nd
If you are banging you head against the wall trying to think of a unique gift idea for someone close to you, you may just have found something that will work for you!
If your wife/husband, parent, brother/sister, adult children, or close friend has ever talked about being bored at this point in their life, or wishing they had a hobby, or that they had pursued past attempts at playing an instrument or painting, or if you know that they have admired the ballroom dancing on Dancing With The Stars, then giving them DVD-based lessons could be the perfect fit.
For this gift idea article, I am highlighting DVD lesson sets from Legacy Learning Systems. Yes, we do have an affiliate relationship with them where we would get a commission, but the idea is genuine (as always!!) and the price is the same no matter how you get there.
Hopefully one of the following DVD lesson sets will spark your gift-giving genius and make someone close to you very happy:

$5 Gift Ideas! Courtesy of Fiverr.
May 5th
I’ve recently become addicted to using Fiverr.com for some guerrilla marketing stuff. For some reason I just noticed the “Gift Ideas” section of the site (see image below, and visit the category here). I think that the image I captured of the Gift Ideas page says it all – fun, unique, small gift ideas for 5 bucks!
(Oh, the image here doesn’t show you one of my favorites – “I will write and record a TV sitcom theme song about your life for $5“)

Decorative Packing Tape to Add Zip to Your Packages!
May 4th
So, I talk a lot about gifts and unique gift ideas on this blog. Every once in awhile I decide to write about some other aspect of gift-giving. In this case, the art of beautiful wrapping!! But not gift-wrapping, per se. Instead – making the package you are sending more appealing.
Through a class I was teaching, I met someone involved in TapeSwell, and after learning about the products and seeing the output of people using the decorative packing tapes, I immediately wanted to do a blog post about TapeSwell.

The use of decorative packing/shipping tape is probably only limited by your creativity (and time!!).
TapeSwell’s products are ideal for the individual “Martha Stewart-Type” person, small business owners, artisans, handmade gift makers, party planners, and people who generally care about gift presentation.
