Curious Sites

The following is a list of cool & unique online stores that we have followed over the years. Some of the websites are places where we have no financial relationship. Others on this list (clearly marked, in their own section) are affiliate (definition in Wikidepia) partners of ours. No matter what, if they’re on this list it’s because they are great places to find gifts! And because they are not-your-ordinary store.

Enjoy browsing & shopping!

www.perpetualkid.com entertain your inner child There are actually pages specifically titled “Robots & Cupcakes” and “Bacon Love“.  Robots, cupcakes, and bacon – a recipe for successful world domination (and fun)! Twitter
www.vat19.com Purveyors of Curiously Awesome Products If not for The Largest Gummy Bear In The World, then visit for a wide range of fun and unusual gadgets and products.  Great videos of the products in action too! Twitter
www.hammacher.com Offering The Best, The Only, and the Unexpected for 162 Years Hammacher Schlemmer was perhaps my “first love” in the world of gadget-gifts.  Dating back to printed catalogs before the Web. Twitter
www.uncommongoods.com find anything but ordinary A FANTASTIC selection of cool gift ideas.  Check out the Wine & Foodie Games we profiled in a blog post. Twitter
www.artfulhome.com art for life. for home. for ever. I love beautiful things, made by talented artisans.  Great place for high-end gifts. Twitter
Red Envelope The place for unique and personalized gifts One of the premier (and one of the original) gift websites. Red Envelope is one of the places you go for “classy” gifts, sent in a very classic, “this is special”, way. Twitter
www.cloud9living.com The Gift of Passion and Dreams (experience gifts) If you agree that life is more a collection of experiences than it is about collecting material objects, then this is the place to buy an experience gift for someone on your list.  From ninja lessons, to skydiving, to race car driving, to resort golfing (and lessons), and beyond, put your gift recipient on Cloud 9! Twitter
www.zazzle.com Zazzle’s vision is to redefine commerce, powered by the world’s imagination. Like Etsy and Artfire (profiled above), Zazzle is a great place to find handmade items, and more.  Zazzle is a site similar site CafePress, where we also have an affiliate relationship.  I think that CafePress has caught up to Zazzle in thequality of the products there and in the selection as well, but I have a preference for shopping at Zazzle (not exactly sure why, to be honest).  I especially like the Vintage Posters category at Zazzle! Twitter
www.skymall.com Not really their tagline, but here’s what they say on their About page… SkyMall is a multi-channel, direct marketer offering high-quality, innovative merchandise from top direct marketers and manufacturers through its SkyMall catalog and web site, skymall.com. Yep, the magazine of products you see in the airplane when you’re traveling.  I’ve always loved looking through the Skymall magazine on the plane! Twitter
